General Team Meeting Agenda

Welcome/Intro  Ann led off with an introduction. 38 teams, 4 brand-new.  The Board introduced themselves  Carol Schwanger, VP; Lisa Mello, VP, Sue McDowell, Secretary; Carrie Sirola, MAHA rep; Joanne Luckasik, Treasurer.
Joanne gave the financial report - $3,149 .55 in the account. Brought in $12,068 last year and, with tournament and other expenses, expended $12,575.61.
Ann reviewed the new rules within the league:
- Rostering an 18 year old: a team is allowed to roster 2 but this must be sent to the board for approval before theyre put on the roster.
o Criteria board is considering included that they are basic level players, not just dropping from a  girls 19U team
o That these are adult 18s e.g., have graduated from HS and etcetera..
- Advanced teams will be scheduling refs this season.
- Referee-in-chief position to be handled by the Board (reminder that every district has a Referee scheduler and/or a Referee-in-Chief to whom these issues will be directed).
- Complaint form process was reviewed: please be detailed. Remember to provide official names (where appropriate) and get the complaint in early.
- Board of Directors ballot process
The MSWHL Handbook is online. Please review this! You should also be familiar with MAHA (www.maha.org) and USA Hockey (www.usahockey.com) rulebooks. We work under both of these organizations. It is your responsibility to be familiar with all of these levels.

Reminders:
- Be sure to use your MSWHL scoresheets. There was some discussion about the responsibility of the winning team to get the scoresheet into their statistician. Also  if you could do your scoresheets with stickers rather than chickenscratch?? That helps the statisticians.  Your registrar can provide your team list ready for labels.
- Official USA Hockey roster and MSWHL handbook acknowledgement must be turned in to Ann by October 1st
- All players must register online with USA Hockey; this is mandatory in Michigan this year. Cost is $35 per player/coach. If you are an adult player and a coach, just print out extra copies of your final information. You only need to register once. If you are an adult player and a referee you do need to fill out two online processes. See USA Hockeys website for more information. 
- Encourage your attendance at the monthly meetings.
Mandatory New Team meeting is Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Eddie Edgar Arena. All new teams are required to send a representative.  Other teams are welcome to join us!
2009 Ruicci Cup will be March 19-22, 2009 at Eddie Edgar. Host teams: The Other Team, PuckinChix, Swarm. Standings for Ruicci Cup is March 1st. For the full league standings, all games of the season  (even those after the Ruicci Cup) apply. 
Distribution of division list and scheduling information. Teams with concerns about placement and/or the names of the divisions please talk among your division first. Board will review standings mid-November.
